HydraFacial MD®

This first cleanse step prepares the skin for treatment by removing makeup, surface impurities and dirt resulting from environmental pollution that can promote skin inflammation and ageing. The specially formulated cleansers that we use help to hydrate, soothe, repair and restore the skin to its natural state, while also removing the top layer of dead skin cells, deep cleaning the pores and promoting cell renewal.

The lymphatic system bathes our skin cells in lymphatic fluid, which provides hydration and nutrients, as well as being responsible for removing toxins and delivering immune system defence against infections. A sluggish lymphatic system can promote the build-up of toxins in the skin that can lead to inflammatory skin conditions, compromised immunity and most obviously swelling (particularly noticeable under the eyes). The HydraFacial MD^® system combines Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) with vacuum pump assistance to help to improve the lymphatic circulation, reduce toxin build-up, promote skin hydration, and reduce facial swelling. It also helps to prepare the skin for the main HydraFacial MD^® steps that follow.

The next step uses Active-4™️ serum in combination with the Vortex-Fusion^® technology and a specially designed tip to gently exfoliate and cleanse at a deeper level than the initial cleanse, leaving the skin feeling soft, smooth and radiant. The Active-4™️ serum contains non-acid exfoliants, soothing and calming extracts, and hydrating elements. It is suitable for all skin types, exfoliating the skin to soften sebum and dislodge dead skin cells while simultaneously promoting skin brightening and firming through its hydrating properties. It detoxifies and replenishes the skin with essential vitamins and minerals. The Active 4™️ serum also contains Glucosamine HCl that helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as algae extract that is rich in protective antioxidants helping to reduce the effects of damaging free radicals in the body produced from environmental exposure.

At this step, 7.5% GlySal™️ peel (combination of 7.5% Glycolic acid and 2% Salicylic Acid) is used to remove even more dead skin cells and help clear congested and oily skin, reducing the build-up of dirt and sebum within the pores.  Since the previous initial deep cleansing and exfoliation steps have already removed a significant amount of the superficial dead skin cells and dirt, the acid peel can act at a deeper level than it would have otherwise reached, which is one of many key benefits of HydraFacial MD^® treatment. In effect, it allows a more gentle peel to be used with the same benefit as a stronger peel, allowing it to be used in all skin types. For patients with special skin needs, such as moderate to severe acne, may require a stronger peel concentration as part of a more intense HydraFacial MD^® treatment regimen.

The next step uses Beta-HD™️ serum in combination with the Vortex-Fusion^® technology and a specially designed tip to deeply cleanse the skin and gently extract dirt and sebum from the pores on the nose and T-zone areas, as well as any other areas on your face prone to breakouts. The extraction is by purging, which is much less traumatic than manual extraction by squeezing. The Beta-HD™️ is a specialised solution formulated for all skin types but is particularly beneficial for oily, congested or combination skin. Ingredients such as salicylic acid gently exfoliate the skin preventing the build-up of dirt and sebum in the pores. At the same time, the honey and Spiraea Ulmaria flower extract contain various minerals and amino acids that soften and soothe the skin, promoting hydration.

The Vortex-Fusion^® system allows deep delivery of potent hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture into the skin for days (which can be further extended for weeks by at-home aftercare treatments). The Antiox-6™️ solution also contains peptides and protective antioxidants including Vitamins A and E as well as extracts of White Tea, Horse Chestnut and Rosemary. This powerful combination of nourishing ingredients both boosts hydration, detoxifies the skin and reduces inflammation, visible as improved firmness, tone and radiance.

LED phototherapy or photobiomodulation uses controlled levels of light energy from the red, blue and infrared part of the light spectrum, which stimulates cellular functions to enhance various biological processes with therapeutic effects. It is an evidence-based painless treatment that has multiple clinically proven benefits, including wound healing and pain relief, being used by the US military for enhancing recovery from soft tissue injuries in their soldiers. LED phototherapy can regenerate the skin helping to boost skin complexion and reduce both the signs of ageing and blemishes. Each wavelength of light is absorbed by different targets to stimulate specific skin rejuvenating processes. Red light, for example, is absorbed by mitochondria, which provide energy to the cell. This cellular energy boost can trigger a cascade of beneficial effects that accelerate cell renewal, increase collagen and elastin production and promote skin hydration. The blue light wavelengths also help control acne by targeting the bacteria in the sebaceous glands that cause spots, while being gentle on the skin. The near-infrared light is absorbed deep into the skin, helping to enhance cellular activity with a wide range of rejuvenating benefits. It also helps to improve circulation, leading to more efficient oxygen and nutrient delivery to the skin. These actions can accelerate skin repair, calm inflammation and improve skin barrier protection for sensitive skin.

HydraFacial MD^® PRO^©️ is not only a medical-grade skin treatment with proven clinical benefits but is also very relaxing. Our skin specialists enhance this experience further with a 9 point facial pressure massage to help reduce facial muscle tension, improve circulation, and stimulate endorphins (hormones that heighten a sense of euphoria, with sedation and analgesic effects). Indeed, patients often enter a state of calm and fall asleep during treatment.

The final step in the treatment is the application of professional skincare products that protect the skin from environmental exposure (including sun damage). These include a broad-spectrum sunscreen with both UVA and UVB filters and powerful antioxidants that protect against damaging free radicals produced by sunlight. A skincare regime will be provided for home use that is tailored to your specific skin health needs.

DermaBuilder™️ is a proprietary multi-peptide serum delivered using the HydraFacial MD^® Vortex-Fusion^® technology that helps to diminish fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone and texture, plump the skin, and enhance skin elasticity and therefore firmness. Britenol™️ is a clinically proven treatment for diminishing the appearance of sun-damage related pigmentation and improving overall skin complexion. It contains both Alpha-Arbutin and bearberry extract brighteners as well as Vitamin C antioxidant to brighten and balance skin tone while reducing the appearance of dark spots and sunspots. Britenol™️ is integrated into the HydraFacial MD^® PRO^©️ treatment between step 3 and step 5 and is also delivered using the Vortex-Fusion^® technology.

The Acne and Acne Scarring booster treatment is designed to particularly target active acne and acne-related scars using incrementally increasing application durations and strengths (up to 30%) of the GlySal™️ peel. This more intense protocol further reduces the build-up of excess oils and sebum and improves the appearance of acne scars by deeper exfoliation using the salicylic acid and glycolic acid combination. Unlike the other booster treatments, there are no additional steps but rather is a modification of step 4 (Acid Peel) of the HydraFacial MD^® procedure. Improvements can be seen from the first treatment; however, optimal results need a course of 6 treatments conducted once a week.

The results are then prolonged and boosted for up to a month with the same PERK™️ roller-ball device as a take-home booster serum that is applied daily. Results can be seen after one treatment, although a course of 3 treatments or more spread monthly is recommended for optimal results.

Lips are especially prone to damage and dehydration, resulting in dry, cracked skin and mucosa and volume loss. PERK Lips™️ utilises unique, patented roller-flex technology to gently exfoliate dead skin cells from the superficial layer of the lip while simultaneously infusing key nutrients such as peppermint oil and peony extract as well as protective antioxidants. It is a great treatment to revitalise and gently plump the lips as well as improve lip texture, colour and hydration.  It is also an excellent accompaniment to lip fillers, helping to improve the overall appearance of the lips.
